Turnout beta · Opening late October
Nobody tells you what to do next. Turnout does.
Your fire service career, mapped out. A personal plan from your first course to your next promotion, with the courses, departments and study tools to follow it. Starting in British Columbia.
What you get in the beta
Your plan
Answer a few questions and get your next steps in order, each with the reason it comes now and where the facts come from. Whether you are chasing a first job or the next rank, the plan starts from where you are.
Study tools
Add your study guide, slides saved as a PDF, handouts, class notes or photos and Turnout makes cue cards, questions and practice tests for your exact course, whoever teaches it. It stays private to you.
Courses
51 courses with real providers, from EMR and Firefighter I and II to rescue, instructor, officer, inspector and paramedic (PCP and ACP) training. Prices, lengths and start dates are shown where the provider publishes them, linked to its own page, with a suggested order for what to take next.
Departments
378 BC fire departments on a map, with links to their own websites and hiring details only where a department states them. Save the ones you are aiming for, then track each application with its stage, dates and a short checklist. A Networking board lets members ask questions and talk things through.
Experience and resume
Keep your volunteer and work experience in one place, read it from your resume, and find volunteer opportunities near you: fire departments, search and rescue and more.
Being built now
Interview and fitness preparation, resume help and fire service news. They arrive during the beta, so early members shape them.
How the beta works
- 1
Join the waitlist
One email. Nothing else is needed.
- 2
Invites go out in waves
Friends and family first, then the list. People who share their link and bring friends move up.
- 3
Use it, and tell us what is confusing
Tap Feedback on any page. Every message is read, and it decides what is built next.
Who it is for
Aspiring firefighters
Not sure which courses come first, which departments are realistic, or how to stand out. This is where Turnout starts.
Volunteers and recruits
Already on the way and wanting to study properly, build experience and plan the next qualification.
Career firefighters and officers
Planning the next step: specialty rescue, instructor, inspector or officer courses, a move to another department, or a promotion.
Good to know
- The beta starts in British Columbia. Other provinces come later.
- Every fact shows where it came from and the day it was checked. Anything not confirmed says so plainly.
- Turnout suggests an order; it is not a ranking from any department or provider. Departments differ, so confirm with the ones you want.
- Some tools are still being added, and study material grows every week. Early access means rough edges, and your feedback fixes them.
Why Turnout exists
Getting into the fire service is confusing: which courses matter, which departments to aim for, how to study, what to do first.
Turnout is built by an aspiring firefighter who is working through the same path. It is being built in the open, and the people who join the beta decide what comes next.
Get in before everyone else.
Waitlist members are invited first. One email is all it takes.
